Start Here
Turn left out of the community centre up the hill. When you have passed the chapel turn right onto the trail
marked by Glyndwr’s Way National Trail Waymark. Continue up the Garn on the track.
As you near the top of the hill and before the gate there is a large clump of trees. Turn left here at waymark.
Follow the fence keeping the peak on your left. Keep following the Glyndwr’s Way waymarks.
When the trail turns back into a track, take the right hand gate and keep following the track to the road.
On reaching the road turn right. After 0.5 mile look out for where the Glyndwr’s Way leaves the road and
goes back into the forest on your left.
There is a wooden horse stile and a metal gate.
Cross over the footbridge and climb hill up the other side.
You will come to a stone surfaced forest road, go straight across.
After approx ¼ mile you will leave the Glyndwr’s Way by turning left at the Powys Council Yellow arrow
waymark onto the historic refurbished sunken road. The path was a key access point to the Abbey in
Abbeycwmhir and more recently to the church. You can still see the cart ruts easily.
Follow the yellow arrows climbing the sunken road. Eventually you will come to a cross roads. There is a
forest road to your left, one to your right and one straight on.
Take the stone surfaced forest road straight ahead.
Follow this forest road until you get to a cattle grid. Turn left here over the cattle grid.
Follow this track all the way until you reach the road. Turn left at the road and follow this quiet lane all
the way back to Bwlchysarnau.
